Modern Teaching Methodologies in Chemical Engineering Courses: Project-Based learning and Active-Learning. (September 2020)
AUS is one of the leading teaching universities in the region, and while being so, faculty at AUS are always encouraged to seek advancement in teaching and supported to adopt alternative teaching delivery. The purpose of this webinar is to shed the light on some examples of implementing such activities in the college of engineering in general, with emphasis on chemical engineering courses in particular. Furthermore, the webinar will discuss two case studies on adopting project-based learning to “Mass Transfer” as a major core course, and active learning into “Fundamentals of Carbon Capture and Sequestration Technology” as a major elective course at the Chemical Engineering Department. Moreover, the pros and cons of these new teaching methods will be highlighted and supported with students’ surveys.
