AUS and AJMS sign Memorandum of Understanding
American University of Sharjah (AUS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) recently with AJMS Global as part of its commitment to develop and foster ties with industry.
The signing ceremony was held virtually and was attended by senior officials from both institutions, including Professor Kevin Mitchell, Chancellor of AUS, and Abhishek Jajoo, Partner and CEO of AJMS, a boutique organization that provides niche consulting advice to its clients in the areas of tax, risk, compliance, IFRS advisory as well as digital transformation advisory.
Speaking on the occasion, Chancellor Mitchell said:
“The agreement with AJMS Global will expand opportunities for students and provide a framework for collaboration in areas related to customized training and executive education. AUS is committed to working with partners to advance the academic mission of the university, and we look forward to benefitting from AJMS Global’s experience and expertise.”
The agreement highlights a number of areas in which the two organizations will cooperate, including collaborating to provide internship opportunities for students; recruitment efforts aimed at recent graduates as well as seasoned professionals from the university’s alumni network; customized training and executive education programs designed by AUS faculty members; AJMS Global officials to collaborate with AUS faculty members to organize industry visits for relevant classes; as well as collaboration and participation in events and panel discussions.
Speaking about the agreement, Jajoo said: "We are pleased to sign this MoU with AUS. AJMS wants to encourage young talent to learn and experience the subject matter in real life scenarios so that they can correlate classroom teaching with the practicalities and nuances of a corporate environment. We believe that AUS has brilliant students, and we look forward to welcoming them."
