Sharakah Students Day offers an informative introduction to AUS
Two hundred and fifty high school student applicants and their parents had the opportunity to visit American University of Sharjah (AUS), explore its top-rated programs and discover its vibrant student life as part of the Sharakah Students Day.
Organized by the Office of Enrollment Management at AUS, the event welcomed AUS applicants from schools that are part of the AUS Sharakah Program to give them an opportunity to meet with faculty and departments and have their queries answered. The AUS Sharakah Program fosters partnerships with select schools in the UAE to engage school students and teachers by offering a wide range of events, activities and programs as part of the university’s community engagement strategic initiative.
"As part of our commitment to our Sharakah partners, AUS organized an exploration event for student applicants from Sharakah schools and their parents. The event provided an opportunity for the applicants and their parents to get a first-hand experience of AUS as well as to meet representatives from their college/school and other departments to gather information that will facilitate their transition into their first year at AUS. The event also included an entertaining competition that gave participants a chance to win prizes," said Ali Shuhaimy, Executive Director of Enrollment Management at AUS.
The event proved to be helpful for many of the participating students.
"The event was great. Department representatives were extremely helpful, and I had a chance to learn more about the Physics major. I also learned more about the scholarships that the university offers. Overall, all of my questions were answered, and I had a great time at this event,” said student Adel AlYaroobi from Al Maarifa International School.
Student Hamzah Wael Musamih from International School of Creative Science plans to pursue a major in mechanical engineering at AUS and found the event helpful. He said: “The event was well organized, and it was especially great to meet some of the professors and discuss the different majors and career paths.”
Student AbdulHadi Al Zard from Manarat Al Sharjah thanked the AUS Sharkah team for the event saying: “The organization was impeccable, and the team took care of our individual needs and made sure everyone was well-taken care of. Thank you for managing the itinerary for each student and making it a wonderful experience that we really enjoyed.”
The AUS Sharakah Program has more than 100 partner schools in the UAE and region, with students and staff benefiting from various opportunities. For more information about the program, please visit www.aus.edu/sharakah.
