To help ensure that newly admitted applicants complete the admissions process for the upcoming semester, the AUS Testing Center is offering the MBA Admissions Test online. You can take these exams from your own computer at home using the iLearn system, and the exams will be proctored by Respondus Monitor. This special browser provides electronic test proctoring by recording your webcam and microphone during the entire duration of the test.

Instructions for Online MBA Admissions Test

The AUS MBA admissions Test are taken on your own computer at home using the AUS Learning System (https://ilearn.aus.edu/ultra/institution-page​) and on Respondus LockDown Browser. This special browser provides electronic test proctoring by recording your webcam and microphone during the entire duration of the test.

You will need to download and install Respondus LockDown Browser beforehand as the test cannot be taken using a common web browser.

Test Entry Requirements
  • Before you can start the test, you will be required to present your original, valid and signed passport or your UAE national ID.
  • You will be asked to take a photo of your ID using your webcam before you start the test.
  • When prompted to do so, hold your identification close to your computer’s camera and have it in focus. This is very important to establish your identity
  • If your ID cannot be established you might be asked to repeat the test
Test Rules/Equipment
  • You must use a desktop or laptop computer, not a tablet or mobile device.
  • The test can be started anytime from 10:00 a.m. till 4.00 p.m. on the scheduled dates. Once started, you will have 3 hours and 15 minutes to complete the test. This will be organized as follows:

Part 1: Quantitative Reasoning (90 mins)

Break: 15 mins

Part 2: Critical Reasoning (30 mins)

Part 3: Analytical Writing: 60 mins

  • The test will automatically submit at the end of the timed duration (no later than 4:00 p.m.). Make sure to log in and start the test at least 3 hours and 15 minutes before the end time (4.00 p.m.).
  • Apart from during the scheduled 15 minute break, you must remain seated the entire duration of the test with your face showing in the webcam frame.
  • If you get disconnected or exit before submitting the test, the timer will continue running and the time you spend away from the test will be counted.
  • Backtracking is not allowed in the test. Once you continue to the next question, you will not be able to return to the previous questions.
  • Make sure the area around your computer is clear of papers, books, phones, calculators, etc.
  • You are allowed to solve problems on loose paper sheets but not on a notebook. You will have to hold them in front of the camera as part of your environment check step.
  • Record both your desk and the room in which you're taking the test. 
  • Record everything on your desk and make sure that the recording shows the four corners of your desk.
  • During this exam, test takers should not access other resources (such as a phone, ear plugs, head sets, tablet, notes, books, etc.)
  • Physical Calculators are not allowed (Only Built-in Standard Calculator is allowed).          
Test Preparation Tips
  • To access the computer-based test, you will need your AUS username and password as stated in the account credentials email sent to you by AUS. You will not be able to take the test if this is not available. If your password has expired, please go to https://passwords.aus.edu, enter your username, and follow the prompts to enroll and change your AUS password. Please make sure that you login the day before the test date to check your access to iLearn.
  • It is highly recommended that you take the practice test to become familiar with the testing environment and Respondus setup. To practice, please log in to https://ilearn.aus.edu/ .

Test Format

The MBA Admissions Test consists of three sections including quantitative, critical reasoning and analytical writing assessment. The total time allotted for the exam is three hours. Below are the details of the exams:

It should be noted that the quantitative and critical reasoning sections are both multiple-choice and are administered as paper-based exams.

Test Rules and Regulations

No mobile phones, calculators or other electronic devices are allowed in the testing room. All other materials or notes must be left outside as well. Bringing any of these items into the test will result in your dismissal.

Test Fees

AED 500.

Rescheduling Policy

Candidates must send an email to https://infodesk.aus.edu one week prior to the test date in order to reschedule or cancel the exam. The test fee is non-refundable in case of a no-show. 

Test Booking

AUS applicants: To book for the MBA Admission Test, please go to https://banner.aus.edu  and log in to Web Enabled Interface for Students using your AUS email username and password. Once logged in, go to Current Applicants, then go to Testing Center Registration and view the test schedule, and submit the booking request with payment of AED 500 for approval.

MBA Test Results

All AUS applicants can check their tests results by accessing Banner and logging in to Web Enabled Interface for Students using the AUS email username and password.

Required Identification

On the day of the test, students must present their original, valid and signed passport or UAE National ID for identification purposes only. No other form of identification document is accepted.

If any of the above is not available on the day of test, contact the AUS Testing Center immediately.
