AUS and Jinan University discuss student exchange programs
A delegation from Jinan University, China, visited American University of Sharjah today November 29. The delegates met with AUS Chancellor Dr. Björn Kjerfve and discussed issues relating to international student study and exchange programs.
Jinan University was established in 1906 and aims to broaden the opportunities of its students to study abroad, mainly focusing at universities located in the Middle East.
Dr. Kjerfve, along with Dr. Hany El-Kadi, Interim Vice Provost, briefed members of the delegation on the university and discussed areas of mutual interest including student exchange between the two universities. The visitors were impressed with the university's multicultural campus life as well as with the various programs it offers.
Representing Jinan University were Hu Jun, President; Pu Ruoqian, from Office of International Exchange and Cooperation; and Chen Zhenqiang, Dean and Professor in the College of Science and Engineering.
The delegation also toured the AUS campus.
