AUS recognizes industry partners for strengthening internship and career readiness programs
The American University of Sharjah (AUS) College of Engineering has honored 20 organizations for their instrumental role in advancing the university’s internship and career readiness programs. These valued partners have supported AUS students through hands-on internships, mentorship, collaborative research and industry engagement, preparing them to contribute meaningfully to the workforce from day one.
The recognized organizations include: Arabian Gulf Mechanical Centre; Amazon Web Services; Beno Technologies FZ LLC; Beta Information Technology; Dhabi Contracting L.L.C; Dubai Health; Dubai Municipality; Dubai Police; E M G N Electrical Fittings Works L.L.C.; e& (eand); General Motors; Mindware; Petrofac; Schneider Electric; Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority; Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology; Sharjah COOP, Sharjah National Oil Corporation; ADNOC; and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre.
“Industry partnerships play a vital role in shaping the next generation of engineers,” said Dr. Fadi Aloul, Dean of the AUS College of Engineering. “At AUS, we work hand-in-hand with leading organizations to ensure our students graduate with the skills, mindset and practical experience needed to drive innovation and meet the evolving demands of the workforce. These collaborations are a key reason AUS graduates continue to stand out in the job market.”
A longstanding example of this collaboration is Petrofac, which has actively supported AUS students and faculty across various initiatives.
“Petrofac has been collaborating with AUS since its inception, standing firmly behind its mission to promote academic excellence in the UAE. Our senior leaders have volunteered as members of AUS Engineering Advisory Boards. This partnership reflects our ongoing commitment to advancing education and research. By bridging academia and industry, our aim is to support AUS in the development of future-ready graduates who can contribute meaningfully to the UAE’s growth,” said Ali Abdulla Al Ali, Petrofac UAE Country Chair.
All undergraduate students in the AUS College of Engineering are required to complete an internship as part of their degree program. These real-world experiences are vital to bridging the gap between academic learning and professional practice. AUS’ continued focus on student employability and academic excellence is reflected in its national standing—ranked second in the UAE for employer reputation (QS World University Rankings 2025), second for employment outcomes (QS World University Rankings 2024) and among the top five for academic reputation (QS World University Rankings 2025).
