AUS signs partnership agreement with Sharjah Tatweer Forum
American University of Sharjah (AUS) has signed a partnership agreement with Sharjah Tatweer Forum to provide quality professional education to members of the forum’s recently launched Sharjah Leadership Program 2018. This agreement, which was signed by Dr. Björn Kjerfve, Chancellor of AUS, at a press conference held yesterday November 14 at the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce, reinforces the university’s commitment to engaging with and providing services to leading organizations in the emirate.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohamed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the SLP 2018 is aimed at producing dynamic leaders in both public and private sectors.
Commenting on the agreement, Dr. Kjerfve said:
“American University of Sharjah has long been an advocate of professional education beyond graduation. We consider the knowledge and skills gained are vital in today’s workplace, and in preparing individuals and their industries for the future.
“I would like to express my appreciation to His Excellency Jassem Al Blooshi and the Sharjah Tatweer Forum for once again choosing AUS to be an academic partner of the Sharjah Leadership Program for the fifth consecutive year. We are proud to provide young executives the opportunity to enhance their professional and leadership skills as they set out on their careers,” he added.
The objectives of the program have been upgraded to train leaders with three specific qualities: intrapreneurs, leading organisational innovation through the application of problem-solving and creative-thinking; entrepreneurs, leaders of strong and feasible projects that advance the economy; and social entrepreneurs, leaders with impact-based projects that create positive community changes.
