IEEE representatives visit AUS
Committee officers of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) visited AUS on January 27, 2013. The officers from Region 8, which comprises Europe, Africa and the Middle East, were in the UAE for their biannual operational committee meeting. This is the second time the meeting is being held in the UAE in the last 50 years.
The officers met with Dr. Peter Heath, AUS Chancellor; Dr. Thomas John Hochstettler, Provost; and Salem Al Qaseer, AUS Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs; in the AUS Board Room where Dr. Heath enlightened the guests about AUS.
The delegation of IEEE officials included Dr. Eisa Bastaki, Honorary President, IEEE UAE Chapter and Maryam Ali Althani, Chairman-IEEE UAE Chapter. Members of IEEE Region 8 that were present were Martin Bastians, Director; Marko Delimar, Past Director; and other senior officials including Brian Harrington, Pablo Hereto, Costas Staspolous, Aleksandar Szabo and Ali El-Mousa.
