Student Council Members visit Al Noor Island
The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) at American University of Sharjah organized an excursion for its Student Council members to Al Noor Island. The purpose of this trip was to allow the members to express their concerns on student life while engaging in the beauty of nature through a contemporary and creative approach.
The Student Council members toured the island and enjoyed explanations by the tour guide on pavilions, landscapes, unique plants, artwork and lighting system which added to the beauty of the island. The students enjoyed the butterfly house which had over 500 exotic butterflies, whilst an expert on the metamorphosis explained the butterfly life cycle and then students had a chance to observe the different species closely.
Mohammad AlHashimi, a mechanical engineering senior and Student Council President said, "The trip made the Student Council members communicate more efficiently with OSA staff within the informal atmosphere of the excursion. It was a delight to share this experience in a beautiful place with lovely company."
"It's quite impressive to witness how much Sharjah is developing. There is a great synchronization of nature, art and technology put into Al Noor Island. Students enjoyed all these aspects, which are truly educational and memorable. I am glad our Student Council members are very satisfied with their experiences and engagement in student life," said Dr. Moza Al Shehhi, Dean of Students.
