Successful blood donation campaign held at AUS
More than a hundred students from American University of Sharjah (AUS) gathered at the university's Health Center to take part in the blood donation campaign held recently in association with the Sharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Center.
The successful campaign saw 242 students registering and 129 donating blood over the two-day period of the event.
"Every year, we come to AUS and witness greater number of students participating than the year before," said Dr. Reem Jarkas, Physician at the Sharjah Blood Transfusion and Research Center. "We had an excellent response from the students and the campus community. I thank the organizing committee and students for making this campaign a success," she added.
Yara Omar, a mass communication student, said, "The blood donation campaign is a great way for students to give back to the community, not to mention the benefits it provides those donating blood."
