AUS alumna starts architecture and design publication
Lujain Abulfaraj, a graduate from the American University of Sharjah (AUS) College of Architecture, Art and Design (CAAD), began a UAE-based architecture and design publication called WTD, soon after her graduation. The magazine is a non-glossy publication that focuses on non-glossy spaces in the Middle East.
WTD, pronounced WATAD, began in 2011 and targets architects, designers, urban designers, professionals, non-professionals and everyone interested in spaces, design and culture. It aims to create a platform where design is critiqued, discussed and ideas are proposed.
"WTD is a publication born out of love and necessity. There was a gap in the regional market for a design platform that was critical of the architectural scene," said Abulfaraj, who graduated from AUS in 2011, with a Bachelors of Science in Visual Communications. The team at WTD currently consists six members. Meitha Al Mazrooei leads the editorial direction team which consists of Tracy Gray and Khaled Sadiyyah. Lujain Abulfaraj leads the art direction team with consists of Ghaya Bin Mesmar and Sarah Al Agroobi.
The magazine can be accessed at www.wtdmagshop.com and at Kinokuniya bookstore at The Dubai Mall.
