The Green Office Program offers AUS staff and faculty an opportunity to actively support the university's sustainability objectives by advocating for eco-friendly practices within their workplaces.
Under this initiative, designated Green Office EcoAmbassadors undergo comprehensive training sessions led by a representative from AUS Sustainability. These sessions cover program details, engagement opportunities, and strategies for inspiring peers and colleagues to embrace sustainable habits within their respective department/office.
The Green Office Program begins with an initial EcoAmbassador Workshop, educating the participants on:
Subsequent workshops cover specific topics such as reducing the use of paper, energy and pollution in the workplace; the concept of "refuse" before "reuse"; and how to encourage coworkers to embrace practices such as reusable food and beverage containers, tote bags and procuring items of natural fibers versus plastic, etc. to ensure that a culture of sustainability is being nurtured within the offices at AUS.
Our EcoAmbassadors represent their respective department/office in the Green Office Program and form the essential communication link between AUS Sustainability and all AUS employees.
