Alumni Events
We organize a wide range of events for our members throughout the year. From large reunion dinners held on campus in Sharjah to casual get-togethers held off-campus, we do our best to provide our members with opportunities to re-connect with their alma mater and fellow alumni. Two of our most prominent and popular events include:
AUS ALUMNI REUNION DINNER
Held under the patronage and in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed AlQasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of AUS, our Alumni Reunion Dinner is an annual event that is held on campus and is attended by hundreds of our alumni from all over the region.
The dinner, organzied by the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, is aimed at bringing back a large number of alumni to campus in order to celebrate alumni achievements as well as to reconnect with old friends. This annual gathering revitalizes the alumni's connection with the University and with their fellow alumni. The event involves the showcasing of the many significant accomplishments of the alumni.
The reunion dinner is also attended by a number of prominent alumni and senior government officials, many members of the AUS Board of Trustees, senior university officials and faculty members.
AUS CAREERS FORUM
The AUS Careers Forum was established at AUS to serve as a platform to engage with prominent businessmen who possess a high level of expertise in areas taught at our University. Organized by OAAA, this annual event brings together local, regional and international companies from the private, semi-government and government organizations keen on recruiting AUS students as full-time employees and/or interns.
The event comprises two parts: The Forum and the annual Career Fair. The Forum provides an opportunity for classroom theory to interact with the practical experience of the real world. Students and recent graduates meet with employers, executive officers, senior business figures and guests to discuss a number of topics of common interest and address issues of fundamental economic development and growth in the region. The Forum helps to bridge the gap between academia and business and allows for the formation of a partnership between the two.
Our annual AUS Career Fair brings students, graduates and prospective employers from prominent companies looking to hire the most talented and academically qualified students and graduates who can bring valuable job skills and multicultural dimensions to their work environment. This event is extremely helpful as it provides students with an opportunity to meet with a whole host of potential employers, all present at one venue. It also enables students and alumni to engage with industry professionals and explore the various career paths and job opportunities available in the marketplace.
