Post-Production Studio
The Post-Production studio is housed within our Media Production Studio and contains several sound and video related stations for post processing. It includes a Color Grading station, Sound Production station, as well as a station for converting various media formats.
SOUND EDITING AND RECORDING STATION
The sound production station provides facility for sound recording and mixing - ideally for both recording and monitoring. Spaces are specially designed to achieve optimum acoustic properties (absorption of reflected sound that could otherwise interfere with the sound heard by the listener).
Our sounds editing station primarily utilizes Pro Tools HD along with a special mixing console. Pro Tools is a digital audio workstation developed and manufactured by Avid Technology. Pro Tools can run as standalone software, or operate using a range of external A/D converters and internal PCI Local Bus (PCI or PCIe) audio cards with on-board Digital Signal Processor (DSP).
We also provide a wide set of microphones and speakers, in addition to a soundproof recording booth. The sound recording booth can be used to record Automated Dialog Replacement (ADR).
COLOR GRADING STATION
Color grading allows the video editor to control the color of an image. A varied and intentional color palette in video can inform the audience in a multitude of ways and the mood of a narrative is enhanced by the use of color grading.
Our studio uses Da Vinci Resolve for color grading, which is a high end color grading application that is used to correct and enhance the color of film and video. It has been used to color grade more feature films and TV spots than any other system and is considered to be the benchmark or gold standard upon which all systems are measured.
We have two color grading stations available with high end computers, 4k monitors, external storage drives and grading wheels.

Access
Access to the Post-Production Studio will only be provided to students who received an orientation by our Media Labs Specialist. Access is granted only to students currently enrolled in CAAD courses, as well as faculty, staff and pre-authorized students.
