AUS faculty honored at international industrial engineering conference
Three faculty members from the American University of Sharjah (AUS) College of Engineering were recently honored at the 14th International Conference on Industrial Engineering and Operations Management (IEOM), hosted by Khalifa University at the Hyatt Regency in Dubai.
The IEOM conference, organized by IEOM Society International, facilitated knowledge exchange among academics, researchers, and practitioners in industrial engineering and operations management. It promoted networking, collaboration and the identification of major trends in the field, advancing both theory and practice.
Dr. Fadi Aloul, Dean of the AUS College of Engineering and recipient of the Distinguished Professor Award, remarked: "This recognition serves as a testament to the dedication and passion we bring to our work at AUS. It's not just an acknowledgment of individual achievement but a reflection of the collective excellence that defines our institution."
Sharing his thoughts on the honor, Dr. Abdulrahim Shamayleh, Professor and Head of the Department of Industrial Engineering at AUS and recipient of the outstanding Professor in Operations Research Award, said: "Being recognized among peers in the field of operations research is truly humbling. It fuels my commitment to pushing the boundaries of knowledge and innovation in my area of expertise."
Dr. Mahmoud Awad, Professor of Industrial Engineering at AUS and recipient of the Global Lean Six Sigma Award, emphasized the significance of the recognition: "Receiving this award is a proud moment for me personally and for our department at AUS. It highlights the significance of continuous improvement in industrial engineering and motivates us to pursue even greater advancements."
AUS faculty are dedicated educators and active researchers who create knowledge that is regularly drawn upon by other researchers around the world.
