AUS holds International Conference on Industrial Informatics and Computer Systems
American University of Sharjah (AUS) opened the second International Conference on Industrial Informatics and Computer Systems (CIICS) on campus, today, March 13, 2016. The conference focuses on the latest in computing, networking and software development and their synergetic integration in exploring theoretical engineering venues and solving practical industrial problems. The theme of this year's event is "Smart Cities Technologies."
Keynote speakers of the conference include Dr. Aisha Bin Bishr, Director General of Smart Dubai Office; Bashar Kilani, Territory Executive, Gulf Countries and Levant, IBM Middle East; Amer Al Sayegh, Senior Director, Space Systems Development Department; and Ashley Woodbridge, Senior Solutions Architect.
In his opening address, Dr. Leland Blank, Dean of College of Engineering (CEN) briefed the delegates on the growth and development of the CEN, providing them with information on the programs offered as well as the student strength at the college. Dr. Blank also expressed his gratitude to the organizers of the conference for their hard work in making the event a success.
The three-day conference will discuss a wide variety of topics, some of which include: Information and Communication Technology, Internet of Things, Computer Systems for Smart Grids, Industrial Informatics for Renewable Energy, Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Software Engineering for Industrial Applications, Information Systems and Network Security, Data Management Applications, Smart Sensors and Structural Monitoring, Web Applications and Industrial Automation, Big Data and much more.
