AUS holds lecture on 3D printing technology in the field of medical health and education
American University of Sharjah (AUS) held a lecture on the development of digital 3D technology in the field of medical health and education, today, November 15, on campus. The lecture was entitled "The Application of 3D Printing Technology on Medical Health," and was given by Dr. Chen Jimin, Professor and Director of the 3D Printing Technology Center at the Institute of Laser Engineering, Beijing University of Technology.
Dr. Jimin explained the concept of how digital medical 3D printing technology combines traditional medical and digital design, computer science, biotechnology and 3D print technology. He also described how the integration of digital 3D technology in the medical field would change people's lives, health habits, health care as well as the traditional business model of the medical industry.
The lecture was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at AUS.
