AUS hosts IBM Day
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at American University of Sharjah (AUS) hosted an IBM event for computer engineering students and faculty. The event comprised multiple sessions at which IBM representatives talked about different IBM programs that are of interest to AUS students and faculty.
During the session, representatives from IBM, an American multinational technology and consulting corporation, discussed their company's interest in providing internship opportunities to students and training programs for faculty, as well as research opportunities.
"The IBM Day at AUS exemplifies the interrelationship between industry and academia. The presenters have provided our students with valuable insight into the company and its expected future needs and directions, and how students can prepare for exciting challenges ahead," said Dr. Assim Sagahyroon, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. "The forum also allowed our current students to interact with computer science and engineering graduates who are currently employed by IBM in different capacities," he added.
