AUS recognizes Sharakah Program partners
The American University of Sharjah (AUS) Sharakah Program held its annual Principals and Counselors Appreciation Day in recognition of its school partners and collaborative work. The event recognized 68 schools from across the country and the region.
The Sharakah Program, a partnership initiated by the university’s Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) between AUS and select high schools, currently boasts an enrollment of 90 schools. It aims to support the university’s strategic initiative to create a platform for cooperation in various academic and non-academic areas. These include the engagement of teachers and students through training sessions and workshops, as well as cultural, social, and sporting activities.
“The Sharakah Program has gained tremendous momentum since its inception and has become a flagship of AUS’ commitment to community engagement. Throughout the years, the program has provided a platform for collaboratively supporting school students’ educational and extracurricular activities. With schools’ support, the university has been organizing multiple competitions covering various disciplines every year to enrich school students’ experiences and give them the opportunity to exhibit their potential and talent. These events have resonated well with all students, which encourages us to keep building on their successful outcomes,” said Ali Shuhaimy, Executive Director of Enrollment Management at AUS.
He added: “Principals and Counselors Appreciation Day celebrates our partnership with these schools and gives school principals and counselors an opportunity to meet with university senior administrators and representatives from various departments to share pertinent information benefiting the schools, students and their parents. The university is planning another series of Sharakah programs to be delivered over the course of the next few months. Our hope is that the scheduled programs will prove to be appealing to the schools and students.”
