AUS shines in Global University Leader Awards: First regionally and third globally
American University of Sharjah (AUS) has been awarded first place in the regional category and achieved third runner-up globally in the prestigious Global University Leader Awards. These awards honor universities for their excellence and dedication to providing international opportunities for undergraduate students.
A newly established accolade as part of the renewed Global Undergraduate Awards, the Global University Leader Awards recognizes universities that provide their students with access to diverse global experiences that expand their horizons and enhance their academic and professional development.
"We have been actively engaged with the Global Undergraduate Awards since 2016, and we have seen our students showcase their exceptional talent and dedication, receiving recognition every year in different categories. We are proud to celebrate their successes and to be recognized by the Global University Leader Awards for the work we do. We will continue to provide our students with diverse opportunities that enhance their academic and professional growth," said Dr. James Griffin, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs and Instruction at AUS.
Speaking about the award, Dr. Tod Laursen, Chancellor of AUS, said: "This recognition reaffirms our commitment to fostering global engagement and academic excellence at AUS. The student experience is a main pillar of our institution, and this award is a testament to our dedication to cultivating meaningful relationships and creating opportunities for our students to thrive both inside and outside the classroom. We are proud to celebrate their successes and to be recognized by the Global University Leader Awards for the work we do. We will continue to provide our students with diverse opportunities that enhance their academic and professional growth.”
AUS students have consistently received recognition at the Global Undergraduate Awards under different categories. Last year, 12 students from AUS were recognized for their work, including alumnus Arian Saghfafifar, who produced a graphic novel that made him the global winner in the visual arts category.
