College of Engineering conducts annual poster competition
The College of Engineering held its Annual Senior Design Poster Competition on May 21, 2013. Seniors working on their senior design programs submitted their posters to their department and the top three posters were selected from each department for the final competition. Kevin Mitchell, Vice Provost for Undergraduate Affairs and Instruction, and AUS alumni from the various engineering departments evaluated the posters. The winning posters were announced at the end of the event.
In civil engineering, the winning poster entitled "The Green Alternative" was prepared by Raghad Alghazy, Huda Nassar, Mahmoud Taha and Luay Kharbat under the supervision of Dr. Salwa Beheiry. The electrical engineering winning poster entitled "Adaptive Target Localization for Indoor Applications" was prepared by Firas Kiftaro, Muaz Taji, Yomna Samy and Hebatalla Al Hamdani under the supervision of Dr. Mohamed El-Tarhuni and Dr. Mohammed Jaradat. The mechanical engineering winning poster entitled "Design of a Prototype Vehicle for the Shell Eco-marathon Competition" was prepared by Ahmad M. Farhat, Badar ud Duja, Mohammed Fouad Khan, Mughees Khan, Muhammad Ridwan Murshed and Omar Jadallah under the supervision of Dr. Basil Darras and Dr. Shivakumar Ranganathan. The winning poster in computer engineering entitled "Low-Cost Clickers for Developing Countries" was prepared by Arwa Awan, Hiba Riaz, Marina Rofail and Riham Abdel under the supervision of Dr. Imran Zualkernan. In chemical engineering, the winning poster entitled "Desalination to Microbial Fuel Cell" was prepared by Zeina Baalbaki, Hiba Chekkath Kunhi Moideen, Ankur Maheshwarir, Ami Rasheed and Najla Salkho under the supervision of Dr. Ghaleb Husseini, Dr. Yousef Al-Assaf and Dr. Ahmed Aidan.
