SBA faculty member recognized by UAE Securities and Commodities Authority
Underlining the university’s involvement with the finance and business industry, a faculty member from the School of Business Administration (SBA) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) was recently recognized by the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) for his efforts in training and advising those involved in the UAE financial markets.
Dr. Anis Samet, Associate Professor of Finance, has been conducting training sessions for the past eight years. He said:
“I have offered trainings and workshops to UAE and GCC business entities including the Central Bank of the UAE, Sharjah Ministry of Finance, Sharjah Asset Management Holding, Union of Arab Securities Authorities and Dubai Mercantile Exchange Limited, to name a few. I’ve been supported by SBA in utilizing its resources including use of the Interactive Trading Floor.”
Dr. Samet trained brokers and prepared them for the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) certificates and also trained them on Continuing Professional Development (CPD) credits. He also provided the SCA with recommendations for equivalencies of professional certificates to CISI requirements.
Commenting on his award, he said:
“This appreciation award shows the strong collaboration between the UAE Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) and AUS, the quality of training that we provide our clients with, and our continual commitment to the business community in the UAE and GCC.”
The certificate was awarded to Dr. Samet in the presence of the CEOs of SCA and Dubai Financial Market and representatives of the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange.
