Senior HR official delivers talk at AUS
A representative from Ernst & Young, one of the largest professional services networks in the world and of the big four accountancy firms, spoke to students and alumni of American University of Sharjah (AUS) about "A Career Path in Audit Industry" at the university's Lecture Hall B on November 29.
Scott Thoresen, Senior Human Resource Professional at the company said Ernst & Young values people, quality and growth. "We are looking for people who demonstrate integrity, respect and teaming; people with energy, enthusiasm and courage to lead; and people who build relationships based on doing the right thing," he said.
He said Ernst & Young is a great place to work and that for the last few intakes AUS graduates have fared better than average. "We normally get more than 500 applications for the 30 graduate programs we have in the Winter and in the Fall. The good news is in the last two years, of the 30 university graduates who have joined the program, eight to 10 have been AUS graduates."
After pointing out the available opportunities and explaining the application process, Thoresen urged the student and alumni present to seek careers with his company. "There are many great benefits for joining us for the graduate program or the two months paid internship and our career development framework will surely provide you with the right learning, experience and coaching," he said.
The lecture was organized by the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs.
