Students attend interactive forum
The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) organized the biannual Spring 2019 OSA Student Forum on February 18, 2019. The panel was headed by the directors and managers from various departments, alongside ten students representing the Student Council, sports teams, interest-oriented and ethnic clubs, Community Services, leadership program, residential assistants and Conduct Council Hearing Board. The Forum addressed the students, speaking about their extracurricular involvements at AUS and how it has enriched their university experience and complemented their academic goals.
Paula Doyle, Executive Director of Human Recourses, and Munketh Taha, Director of Student Development and Organizations, encouraged students to share their thoughts and suggestions and to keep ideas flowing for a productive dialogue.
The students expressed their appreciation for the support and services provided by OSA and highlighted a few concerns about facilities and services, which were noted and clarified by the panel.
“Our aim is to fulfill students’ extracurricular endeavors whether in sports, cultural activities, leadership or community service. This forum maintains a healthy and productive communication with students to improve on our programs and services,” said Taha.
"This casual forum encouraged us to share our personal experiences and it provided us with an opportunity to express our thoughts and suggest innovative ways to maintain AUS one of the leading universities in the region when it comes to student life," said Rayana Adel, a senior mass communications student.
The forum will be held each semester to enhance communications and to understand the extracurricular needs of the students.
