Achievement Academy completes English training for the Sharjah Driving Institute and Sharjah Police staff
The Achievement Academy Outreach Program (AAOP) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) has recently completed an English training course for 15 employees from the Sharjah Driving Institute (SDI) and Sharjah Police staff. This collaborative effort marks the first partnership with SDI following a Memorandum of Understanding signed in March and the second collaboration with Sharjah Police.
The training course was designed to enhance participants' communication skills, engaging them in daily classes to practice writing emails, answering calls, speaking to customers and taking messages, discussing past events, and describing organizational activities using professional language.
"This course has been enriching for all of the participants and demonstrates the continued commitment of the Sharjah Driving Institute, in collaboration with Sharjah Police, to nurture the human element within its community. The students' confidence and enhanced language skills will serve them well in the workplace. We look forward to continued collaboration with the Sharjah Driving Institute on future courses," said Jessica March, Director of the Achievement Academy at AUS.
Dr. Lina Hejjawi, Senior Instructor and AAOP Manager, shared her delight in witnessing the participants' progress and the positive feedback received in course evaluations.
"One of the moments I cherish most is witnessing our students' success. During the certificate ceremony, I was delighted to watch the participants' role plays and to hear them demonstrate the language they have acquired. Despite the limited time spent in class, I was impressed by their progress and pleased with their feedback on the course evaluations. I extend my gratitude to the instructor Alison Watt, for her efforts in customizing the teaching materials and her overall dedication," she said.
"I am proud of our employees who have dedicated their time and effort to successfully completing the English language program course, aiming to develop their functional skills, provide the best services to our customers, and communicate with them clearly. I would also like to thank the American University of Sharjah’s program organizers for their efforts in providing the course and achieving its desired goal," said Tariq Abdulrahman Al Saleh, Chief Executive Officer of SDI.
Colonel Majid Mohammed Al Nuaimi from Sharjah Police also extended his gratitude to AUS for its exemplary organization and successful program execution, emphasizing the ongoing commitment to training and collaboration.
"This is only one of many future trainings which will foster even more collaboration and continuous improvement," he said.
