Professor Valerie Lindsay named as AUS School of Business Administration’s Director of Graduate Programs
Dr. Jorg Bley, Dean of the School of Business Administration (SBA) at American University of Sharjah (AUS), has announced that Dr. Valerie Lindsay, Professor of Management, will be the school’s new Director of Graduate Programs. Dr. Lindsay, whose tenure commenced October 16, assumes responsibility for SBA’s two graduate offerings: the Master of Business Administration and the Master of Science in Accounting. She will also oversee the launch of SBA’s highly anticipated Master of Science in Finance, and PhD program.
Professor Lindsay, who holds a PhD from Warwick Business School in the UK, is well qualified to take on the new role, having been involved in the development, administration and management of SBA’s graduate programs for several years, alongside her teaching and supervising responsibilities. She has also worked on student recruitment, program reviews and the accreditation process, giving her a firm understanding of the university’s graduate programs.
Dr. Bley says of the appointment:
“This is an exciting time for SBA, as we have a number of new and restructured graduate programs on offer, and we are looking to significantly expand this offering further. Professor Lindsay will ensure that these programs continue to meet the expectations of our students, who represent some of the best graduate students in the region, and that our graduate offering continues to grow to meet the demands and challenges of the region’s business community. I welcome her to the leadership team of SBA.”
