AUS kicks off Inter-College Sports Tournament Fall 2018
American University of Sharjah (AUS) kicked off its first Inter-College Sports Tournament Fall 2018 on October 28 at the Sports Complex.
Six hundred and fourteen students will participate in the month-long event and compete in football, volleyball, basketball, cricket, bench press, table tennis, badminton, squash, chess, tennis, swimming and track events.
The tournament's opening ceremony started off with a look at sports events held at the university from 1998 until this year. It also featured music performances that included rap music, beat boxing, Arabic music, as well as a karate show.
The breakdown of the students participating in the tournament is as follows:
- 239 students from the College of Engineering
- 143 students from the School of Business Administration
- 111 students from the College of Architecture, Art and Design
- 76 students students from the College of Arts and Sciences
- 45 students from Achievement Academy
