CEN discusses potential collaboration with three Swiss universities

A delegation of three Swiss universities visited the American University of Sharjah (AUS) College of Engineering (CEN) recently to discuss potential collaborations in the areas of student internships, visiting professor positions and research funding.

Dr. Imran Zualkernan, Professor and Interim Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at CEN, met with representatives from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland; Haute École Du Paysage, D'ingénierie Et D'architecture De Genève; and Zurich University of Applied Science. The delegation also toured the college and its state-of-the art facilities.

“I had the pleasure of inviting the representatives of these prestigious Swiss universities to the AUS campus and we had some very enriching discussions about the future of research in computer science and engineering. We introduced the delegation to what our college has to offer and take them on a tour of our well-equipped and extensive laboratory facilities that offer students hands-on learning. I believe that future collaboration is crucial to provide our students and faculty with better research experiences,” said Dr. Zualkernan.

This meeting comes as part of CEN’s strategic agenda that focuses on enhancing the student experience and establishing global collaborations and partnerships in academia and industry to further contribute to the UAE’s vision of becoming a knowledge-based economy.
