Since Fall 2021, the AUS SBA Department of Finance has partnered with the CAIA Association to bring its students a number of exciting opportunities.
Founded at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2002, the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association is the leading global professional organization for the alternative investments industry. CAIA’s core focus as a non-profit institution is on elevating the level of education and professionalism in the alternative investments industry. In addition to hosting a variety of events, webcasts and speaker series, the association offers the CAIA Charter, a professional designation for alternative investment industry professionals, and publishes the Journal of Alternative Investments (JAI), the leading journal for practitioner-focused research in alternative investments.
The association is also the first of its kind to embrace digital transformation and the growing need for linking “classic” financial tools with data science and artificial intelligence by founding the Financial Data Professional Institute (FDPI) and most recently introducing the FDP charter as a complement to the CAIA charter.
As part of the AUS-CAIA partnership, SBA presents speakers, offers guidance for students wishing to take the CAIA charter, involves our student finance clubs in various sponsored events, and scholarships for those students signing up to taking the CAIA charter exam.
In addition to making these benefits available to our students, we are particularly proud that the CAIA Association selected AUS as the only partner institute in the MENA region, and one of only three EMEA partners outside of Europe. This partnership is both testament to the education and research in alternative investments done at AUS, and a most valuable opportunity for our Department of Finance to keep offering high-quality and state-of-the-art knowledge on alternative investments to our students.
